Reviving the Science of Mamuni Mayan

Current Course Offerings

Spring / Summer 2010 In Residence Courses

Under the auspices of The American University of Mayonic Science and Technology (www.aumscience.com ) and in association with the Vaastu Vedic Research Foundation and the International Institute of Mayonic Science and Technology, Chennai, India a course series in Mayonic Science & Technology, Vastu Science and Vaastu Science and Technology is being offered during the Summer of 2009.  Instructors will be  Dr. Jessie J. Mercay and special guest instructors.

AUM S&T Courses are administered in three ways:

  • Cornerstone Series Resident Scholars: These courses are the foundation courses for the study of Mayonic Science and Technology, Vastu Science, Vaastu Science and Technology, and Building Architecture of Sthapatya Veda.  They are taken in residence at an AUM S&T Learning Site or Mayapeetam* throughout the Americas.
  • Distance Learning Series: The student enrolls in teleconference courses and/or independent studies courses.  Most of the study is done independently with 1-2 hour group teleconferences per week.   Unless otherwise stated, this is for advanced students only who have taken the Cornerstone Series.
  • Collective Distance Learning: Students gather at a location and travel together for a specific course of study that requires visiting various Vaastu sites in the America’s or in a foreign country such as India.  Typically, new students and non-students may enroll.

When reading the course schedule, look under each of these three separate sections to find the course you want to take from the curriculum.

Course Schedule

Resident Scholars Program

This is an amazing course of study for architects, designers, builders, masons, and lay people.  It is applicable to people who want to become authentic Vaastu consultants/architects and to people who want to simply enrich their knowledge base and grow in consciousness.  The scientific and spiritual concepts that underlie this body of knowledge are revolutionary.

About half of our students are professionals in the building arts and the other half lay people who have little or no experience in the building arts.

What courses should I take?

The courses below are being offered this summer as part of our core program for certification as a professional Vaastu consultant level 1.  Every class is required for the program and must generally be taken in sequence.

If you are interested in having a solid introduction to the work, but are not sure you want to take the entire certification program you can register for MS&T 101, 201, and 202.  In addition, and it would be useful to register for Practicum 1, MS&T 301 – in this class you will build a small authentic Vaastu structure that will bring Vaastu energy into your home.  It will not correct poor Vaastu of your home but will affect you in a positive way in of itself.

If you already have a college level course in drafting then you need not take the drafting class.  If you already are a builder you need not take Construction Fundamentals.

If you plan to go through the entire program (see www.aumscience.com  Certification program for all of the required courses) then we encourage you to take all of these courses this summer.

If you have time for everything except for MS&T 302 then you can pick that up next summer – it might delay your graduation however.

  • Lodging is very inexpensive this year (about $30 per day for singles and $15 for doubles)

It is advised for you to take the entire sequence this summer if at all possible.  Once you take all of these courses then you only have one more in-residence class to take (India in January).  All other classes are held via teleconference beginning in September, 2010 (beginning with MS&T 303).  A number of students who are architects or interior designers have gotten continuing education credit for these classes.

Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter 2010 – 2011
Advanced Series Teleconference Course Schedule

(09 Advanced Class)
This schedule is subject to minor changes.

Tuition Fees:  Please note that the course fee has been dropped across the board to $253 per unit from $307.   Fees are sometimes a few dollars more and sometimes less than that CU rate.  I know some of you are a bit financially strapped at the moment so I am offering an additional scholarship for a couple of courses.  If you can pay the full tuition I would appreciate it, but if not take the scholarship amount (the figure in parenthesis).  Please note also that I dropped the fee for the design classes almost in half.

I would like to draw your attention to the last course on the schedule: Mayonic Science and Technology 484 / 684 (4 CU) Advanced Student Portfolio Development (Independent Study).
In this course you will be asked to do a review and compilation of the body of work accomplished during this Certification Program. You will be asked to revisit your work and produce a complete Student Portfolio consisting of all written homework, exams, answered questions, glossary, and copies of design work. This process will deepen your understanding and experience of this body of knowledge.  In light of this, I suggest that you begin a special file that contains all of your homework (group homework) and drawings.  You will also be asked to present a running glossary in an MS Word document.  This is a good time to begin that.  Keep scanned copies of drawing classes together.  If you do this as you go along then the final product will be much easier to do.

Also, in this portfolio you will be asked to present a photo journal of your practicums with pictures of yourself in the photos.  You will need about 6-8 photos per practicum.  You can ask other students for some photos from their collection.  You will also be asked to record the general step–by–step process you went through during the practicum.  Not so detailed that you are recording every nail you hammered but rather, a general outline of the steps in building (finding true North, laying out Brahma Sutra and Soma Sutra, setting up the mother wall string lines, supervising setting up of foundation in terms of Vaastu, etc).

  • Following is the upcoming course schedule for your class.  The dates are US dates.
  • Please be sure to check the course syllabus for due dates for homework and final exams.
